Is it easy to DIY replacing garage trim?

I've got some damage to the trim on my garage siding caused by hockey balls. I've tried searching online but couldn't find the specific info I need. How simple is it to replace these trim pieces? Also, what are these pieces called? I glued them back together as a temporary fix, but I want to know if I can tackle this myself.

From what I see in your pic, it looks like you've got cedar shake vinyl siding, and the broken parts are known as j-channel. They’re typically nailed in before the siding is put up, so if it’s not possible to unlock your siding, you’ll need to remove it to swap out the j-channel. Start at the top and carefully take off the siding, keeping track of how everything goes back together. Get some tin snips and a new piece of channel to replace it. Just make sure to match how your old one was cut and fastened.

Thanks for the info! Is this a straightforward job, or should I consider hiring a pro?
