I have a triangular block and a 90-degree set square, both about 15cm tall. When I place the block inside the set square, there's roughly 0.5mm of space at the top, which leads me to believe that one or both of the tools might be inaccurate. Is there an easy way to figure out which one is correct without needing expensive equipment?

To check if your set square is actually square, align it with a known straight edge and draw a line. Then, flip the square left to right and draw another line. If both lines are parallel, then your square is good to go!
Another quick method is to place the set square on a board, score a line, then flip the square and score the line again right next to the first. If the lines are perfectly parallel, then your square is accurate!
You could use an angle finder if you have one. It's a great way to confirm if your set square is truly at a 90-degree angle. If you don’t have one, they’re pretty affordable to buy.
