Hey everyone! My smoke alarm has been going off, and I've noticed it beeps three times, about a minute apart, around five times before it just stopped. There's no smoke or fire, but I'm worried it might be something to do with carbon monoxide since I own a Kiddie 10-year worry-free smoke alarm, which I found out doesn't actually detect carbon monoxide. I'm a bit of a worrier and would rather be safe than sorry! Does anyone know what these beeping sequences mean? Could it be a battery issue? Thanks in advance!

Honestly, sometimes it could just be a CO alarm chiming in! But I’d double-check the specifics of your model too.
I had a similar situation where my alarms beeped every few minutes because they were at the end of their lifespan. You can easily check this by removing it from the ceiling and looking for the manufacture and replace-by dates on a sticker inside—it’s usually near the battery. It might just be old and due for a replacement. Keep it attached until you get a new one, though, just to be safe!
Typically, smoke alarms have a guide on the back that explains the meaning of the beep sequences. If the beeps are not constant, it’s generally a sign of low batteries, a malfunction, or it might be reaching the end of its life. Definitely check that guide for some clarity!
I’d suggest trying to replace the batteries first. Sometimes, that’s all it takes to quiet things down!
