Has Anyone Used Greenlancer or Solar Permit Solutions for Solar Permits?

I'm beginning my DIY solar project and need to get city permits approved for Menlo Park, CA. Time is of the essence since I have less than a year to wrap this up, and I'm considering hiring professionals to handle the permit paperwork. Previously, my experience with the building department was tough, so I want to avoid that hassle this time around. I've narrowed my options down to two companies: Greenlancer, who quoted $1500, and Solar Permit Solutions (SPS), who came in at $1100. Their packages cover all necessary documents, structural and electrical stamps, and amendments to satisfy the building department. They both indicated that if I'm prompt with supplying information, I could have everything ready in just a couple of days. I prefer working with companies that answered my calls, even though I'm not one for chatting on the phone, as I was unsure about some online businesses. Both Greenlancer and SPS were friendly and experienced, particularly with permits in California and San Mateo County. I'm looking for insights on both companies and hope to document my own permit experience, as I think this topic could help many others facing the same uncertainty in the permit process.

I went with a different company, DBM Solar Design from Utah, and had a smooth experience. They charged me $450 for the permit package, which was a steal! Definitely check them out if you want a lower cost option.

I’m currently working with SolarPermitServices.com for my layout, and it’s costing me $600 with a PE stamp. So far, they seem to know their stuff!

I used Greenlancer last fall and ended up paying $850 for my permit-ready plans and a structural engineer's stamp. They gave me everything needed for my local AHJ and the utility setup as well. Seems like their prices might have gone up a bit since then. Did you look at the full package or just a basic one?
