Hey everyone! I'm currently between living situations and neither of my places has air conditioning, which is a big problem for me since I can't handle the heat very well. I tend to overheat quickly and get sick, so I'm searching for the best portable air conditioner that is effective and affordable. I'd appreciate any recommendations for units that can actually cool an entire room. Thanks a ton!

If you're talking about portable ACs, I recommend checking out the Whynter ARC-14S. It's a great unit that costs around $500 and is highly effective at cooling rooms. Just make sure it has two hoses instead of one, so it doesn't pull hot air back into the space you're cooling. That makes a big difference!
If you're on a budget, try the Midea Duo from Costco. It’s been working great for me for almost two years and was only $450. Definitely a solid choice if you can find it!
Have you looked at the LG LP1419IVSM? It’s one of the quieter models out there, and while mini-splits are better, this portable AC does a solid job if you're renting or can't install a more permanent solution. Most people I've talked to say it's worth the investment!

Totally agree! The dual hose makes a huge difference. I noticed way better cooling when I switched from a single hose to a dual one.
