I'm considering picking up a DCS512 circular saw since I've seen some good deals on eBay and heard decent things about it. I want it to serve as a lighter alternative to my DCS570, which sometimes feels like overkill for smaller tasks. My main question is regarding the blade specifications: Dewalt indicates it has a 3/8" arbor, but most 5-3/8" blades I see are made for a 10mm hole, which is slightly larger. Does this discrepancy in size really matter in real-world use? I'm concerned about having a blade that's unbalanced and how that might affect both the cutting performance and the tool itself. If anyone has insights on this or other thoughts about the DCS512, I'd love to hear them!

I used a Diablo blade on my DCS512 without any problems. Just make sure you line it up in the right direction when you install it and secure it properly, and you'll be good to go! It's a fun little saw!
The arbor size is definitely something to pay attention to, as an uncentered blade can lead to dangerous situations. That said, this saw has been a great introduction to the Dewalt 12V line for me! I really hope they expand their offerings in this category.
What blades are you using with it? I've found Dewalt's own blades aren't always the best in terms of performance.

Great to know! I was eyeing Diablo blades too since they've been awesome for my bigger saws. Didn't want to risk any issues with the arbor difference, but sounds like it should work!
