I just discovered mold in the grout of my shower only two months after it was installed, and I'm starting to worry. Could this mean there's a leaking issue that might require tearing out the entire shower? Is it possible to just re-grout and fix it, or does this indicate that the original grout job was poorly done? I purchased the house with this shower already in place, so I have no idea how the previous contractor handled the installation.

Using color-matching caulk in the corners instead of grout is a smart move. Grout can crack or pop out when there’s movement, which is probably why you're seeing mold pop up. It’s generally better for those areas to avoid issues down the line!

So this is definitely grout? I wasn't sure if it was caulk or grout. Would switching to 100% silicone help with this problem?
