How do I wire my ceiling fan when the colors don’t match?

I just got a new ceiling fan, but I'm a bit confused because the ceiling wires don't match the fan wires. I have two white and two black wires coming from the ceiling, plus a bare wire. The fan has blue, black, white, and green wires. What's the best way to wire them up?

It sounds like you might have a single switch controlling everything, so you’ll be wiring it all to that. Connect one of the black ceiling wires to the fan's black wire and the other black ceiling wire to the fan's blue wire, which is for the light. The white wires will go together, and bare wire is for grounding. Just make sure you turn off power before you start!

That makes sense! Just double-check if there's a manual for your fan—sometimes it has specific instructions. But your plan sounds solid!
