Should I Choose Two M12 Tools or One M18 Brushless Tool?

I've been weighing my options for some new tools for my DIY projects and could really use some advice. I've currently got an old Ryobi driver/drill that only goes up to 600 RPM, which just isn't cutting it anymore. Here are the options I'm considering:

1. Two M12 tools (an M12 driver and an M12 impact driver), along with two 1.5Ah batteries and a charger, all for $150 CAD.
2. An M18 brushless drill (tool only, non-fuel version) for $110 CAD.
3. Just replacing my old Ryobi battery for $50 CAD.

Since I'm doing strictly DIY stuff, which option do you think makes the most sense for me?

I’d go with Option 1 for your DIY needs. The two M12 tools are great for light projects, and honestly, you might find yourself wanting some M18 options later on. Trust me, once you start buying power tools, it’s hard to stop! Plus, if you upgrade to some 5Ah high-output batteries later, you’ll really appreciate the extra power and battery life.

That's what I'm worried about though – the M12s are kind of older models compared to the M18s, right? And those 1.5Ah batteries might not last as long as I want.
