Are Slugs in My Garden Unsafe for My Veggies?

Hey everyone! I noticed some slugs on my green onions while I was harvesting in my backyard. Should I be worried about them making my fruits and veggies unsafe to eat? Also, can anyone suggest ways to get rid of these slugs? There seem to be quite a few, and I'm curious if they pose any harm. Thanks!

Yeah, slugs are just hangin' in the garden ecosystem! They want to munch on your greens, and birds are after them too. You can sprinkle some salt on them or gently move them away from your plants. Just remember to wash your veggies once you pick them.

I recommend checking out some resources on this topic. You can use bait like Sluggo positioned away from your plants, sprinkle some diatomaceous earth in the garden, and set up a damp board to catch any stragglers. That should keep them under control!

No need to panic! As long as you don't munch on the slugs themselves, your veggies should be just fine. Just give them a good wash like you always do. For getting rid of slugs, a popular trick is to set up a beer trap—seriously, it's effective! If you want humane options, try putting copper tape around your pots to give them a little shock or sprinkle crushed eggshells around your plants. You could also plant some extra stuff nearby that slugs like to lure them away from your main crops. They’re just part of the garden ecosystem!

Honestly, slugs can be pretty dangerous! When I see one, I just wipe out everything. They might carry harmful diseases, and I wouldn’t want to eat anything contaminated. Be safe and sanitize everything before you think about replanting!

I really hope you're joking! Seriously, the risk of diseases from slug slime is super rare. I can’t imagine anyone here is actually eating slugs. Plus, sanitizing your garden—how would that even work? Are you talking about bleaching the soil?
