I've recently started gardening, and after spending two years trying to control brambles and bindweed, I've now noticed lots of little field bindweed sprouting in my lawn. Is field bindweed as troublesome as the larger bindweed? How can I manage it? While I appreciate the pretty flowers, I'm worried it might take over my garden like its bigger counterpart has!

In my experience, field bindweed is a bit easier to manage than the larger hedge bindweed. I've got it on my allotment, and while it can be difficult to dig out, it grows slowly which makes it manageable. Just keep an eye on it, and you should be fine!

Can I plant other flowers to outcompete it? I'm thinking of creating a lawn with daisies and clover. Would scarifying help keep it in check?
