I've been delaying the purchase of a hedge trimmer for about six months now, and it's finally time to get one. I already own Milwaukee power tools and Ego yard equipment, and while I like the build quality and batteries from Milwaukee, I think Ego's 56V battery might be overkill and a bit heavy for my needs. Has anyone here had experience with either or both brands?

I’ve tried the Quik-lok Articulating Hedge Trimmer and love how you can adjust the angle! It can get heavy during extensive use, but thankfully it includes a shoulder strap to help with the weight.
I’m using the Ego battery system and love it, but if I had to start from scratch, I might go for the Ryobi 40V line just because it's typically more budget-friendly. The smaller Ego batteries are pretty light, so weight won't be a big deal unless you're using a larger battery for heavier tools like a string trimmer. If you’re looking for value, Ryobi is definitely a solid option, especially if you're trying to save some cash with a good quality product.
Totally agree! If you’re tight on funds, Ryobi is a great deal. However, if you're willing to invest a bit more, Ego usually outperforms Milwaukee.
My mom has the Ego hedge trimmer, and it’s been great for her—it’s easy to handle. Personally, I own both the Milwaukee M18 and M12 models, and I have to say, despite the Ego’s larger battery, it often feels lighter than the M18. I can even do a side-by-side pic tomorrow if you’d like to see how they compare!
Aren't Ego mowers made of plastic? Milwaukee uses steel, which definitely adds some weight.

Yeah, that articulating trimmer is quite a workout, especially after tackling a lot of big bushes! My arms were screaming afterward.
