Hey everyone! I'm planning to update the light switches and outlets in my house since they're over thirty years old. I've noticed some switches that don't do anything anymore, and I was thinking of just covering them up with a blank wall plate. The issue is that I'm not sure what they're called, which makes it tricky to find them online. Any advice would be much appreciated!

You're looking for blank wall plates! You can find them easily online or at your local hardware store. Just check out places like Home Depot, they have a good selection. Here's a link you might find helpful: [Blank Wall Plate](https://www.homedepot.com/b/Electrical-Wall-Plates-Blank-Wall-Plates/N-5yc1vZc6qx).
Just a heads up: before you cover those switches, make sure to remove them properly! It's really important to safely terminate the wires and secure them well. Old homes can have surprise connections, so it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Honestly, replacing those switches could be more complex than it seems, especially if you're not experienced with electrical work. It might be a good idea to get a pro to check it out to ensure everything is safe!
