How Can I Insulate Small Attic Doors for Better Temperature Control?

I have two small doors in different closets that open up to a really hot attic or storage space. I'm looking for creative ways to insulate these doors, similar to how some people insulate pull-down attic doors. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

One idea is to glue foam insulation to the back of the doors. If you're looking for a better air seal, you might want to 'key it in,' which means cutting the foam to fit tightly so it blocks airflow more effectively. Just be mindful of how you attach it to maintain access through the door!

That sounds like a solid plan! If you go with foam insulation, make sure to seal the edges properly to prevent heat from leaking through. You could use weather stripping or some kind of tape that can withstand temperatures. Just keep it flexible enough so you can still open and close the door easily!
