Hey everyone! I'm curious about the various wood glues available these days. I'm a 50-year-old woodworker from the UK with around 45 years of experience, mainly using Evo-Stik wood glue (the standard blue and extra strong green bottles). Recently, I noticed a ton of new brands and types online, like Titebond, Gorilla Wood Glue, and more. Do you guys have a favorite wood glue? Do you switch between different types for different jobs? I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations!

I typically use Titebond and Elmer’s glue. Honestly, they feel pretty similar to me—both get the job done! I can't imagine a well-known brand being really bad; it's all about the small differences, like working time or clean-up.
I'm a big fan of Titebond III! I often work on outdoor projects, so the water resistance is a game changer for me. It also gives a longer open time, which makes gluing things together feel less rushed. Totally worth it for me!
I agree, the price difference between Titebond II and III is minor, so I just use III for everything.
I heard Titebond III isn't great for walnut though. Might want to double-check that!
For me, Titebond 2 is my go-to for most projects since it works well and is waterproof. For the things that need more durability, like cutting boards, I go with Titebond 3. I also like using hide glue for tricky furniture joints because it gives a longer open time and is reversible if you mess up.
Sounds like a great strategy! I’m also interested in working with hide glue; I’ve heard it has some cool properties.

Yeah, I'm curious about those differences too, like how they spread or cure.
