What Should I Do About Mold in My New Home?

Hey everyone! I just bought my first home last month, and I was painting a room today when I discovered some mold at the base of one of the walls. It's concerning because there was no baseboard in that closet, and the seller had covered this area during the inspection. I'm seeing some fuzzy growth, and the wall feels a bit soft at the bottom. I'm really worried about how much this is going to cost to fix! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First things first, you need to figure out if there's an active water leak causing the mold. That’s the top priority! It’s crucial to address the source of moisture before tackling the mold itself. You might want to consider hiring a mold inspection or abatement service to get a professional opinion on what you're dealing with.

That's a good point! A professional can really help identify the problem and give you the best course of action for both the leak and the mold.
