I've planted various trees before, but I'm about to tackle moving some mature arborvitae that are around 8 feet tall for the first time. I've accepted a job to do this, but I'm unsure how to approach the moving process. I'm looking for advice on how to lift and transport these heavy trees by hand or with minimal equipment, especially since there's a steep incline from the curb to the new planting spot. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

Honestly, it sounds like you'll need some machinery for this job. Trying to move those big guys without equipment is going to be a hassle. If you can negotiate down to smaller trees, that might also help.
You might want to consider renting a skid steer or something similar. It could save you a ton of effort, especially with those heights and weights. Just make sure you’re comfortable operating one first!
