Has anyone tried covering their backsplash tiles with wood instead of removing the tiles first? I'm currently in the process of taking them off, but it's a slow job, and I keep damaging the wall, which means more patching. The backsplash is quite large, so I'm wondering if simply covering it would work. I'm thinking about using construction adhesive or maybe screwing in some boards for a rustic look. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

Covering the backsplash sounds like a solid plan, especially if you're aiming for a rustic vibe! A thin beadboard or even natural wood could look amazing. Just make sure to use some good adhesive or screws if you’re going that route. It saves you from the hassle of dealing with the damage from removing tiles, and it's a lot quicker.

Yeah, I agree! Plus, if you’re matching it with your butcher block, it should blend well and look quite cohesive. Just be cautious about the edges—finishing them nicely will give it that polished look!
