Has Anyone Tried a DIY Peltier Cooler for Their Phone?

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum and still figuring out electronics. I had this idea: what if I attach a thin copper plate under my phone case using thermal tape, then place a TEC1 12706 Peltier module on top through a cut-out? I would hook up a phone cooler to the hot side of the module and power the whole setup with a USB PD trigger from a power bank that supplies 12V and 1.67A. Do you think this would effectively cool my phone?

Honestly, if you get a solid phone cooler, it probably already has a Peltier module in it and will keep your phone cool enough. The extra layers could actually make things worse by making the heat transfer less efficient. Plus, you're using more power with this setup, which might defeat the purpose!

I get where you're coming from—sometimes phones need a little cooling, especially during intense gaming. A fan cooler would likely be cheaper and more efficient, and it won't draw as much power as a Peltier module. But if you want to experiment and try to push the performance for gaming, go for it! Just keep an eye on the power consumption!
