Help! My Ogre’s Ears Plant Has Brown Ears – What’s Wrong?

Hey everyone, I've had my Ogre's Ears plant for about a month now. I just realized it was overwatered and basically drowning, so I moved it to a sunnier spot to dry out the soil for a couple of days. However, I've now noticed that the ears are turning brown. Any advice on what might be going on?

Yeah, definitely sounds like either rot or sunburn. Just a heads up, if the brown spots are soft or mushy, that’s a sign of rot. If it's crispy and dry, it’s likely sunburn. Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't seem to improve, consider repotting it with fresh, dry soil and see if that helps!

Great advice! Also, make sure you’re using a pot with good drainage. That can help prevent future issues!

It sounds like your plant might be dealing with a couple of issues. Since it was overwatered, it could be experiencing root rot, which would explain the discoloration. On the flip side, if you moved it straight into the sun without adjusting to the light, it could be suffering from sunburn too. If you can, sharing a picture would really help get a better diagnosis!

Totally agree, sharing a photo would help a lot! By the way, if you just moved it to the sun, you might want to gradually expose it to bright light to prevent that sunburn.
