Hi everyone! I've been really impressed with the Samsung Frame TVs, but I'm interested in something less 'smart.' Does anyone know where I can find high-quality matte displays similar to those used in Frame TVs? My plan is to control it using a Raspberry Pi. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

"Dumb TVs" are becoming pretty rare, honestly. Most new TVs are heavily subsidized by built-in apps and ads, which is why the prices are so low on larger models. I have a Samsung TV as well, but I keep it disconnected from the internet and use a receiver for everything else—never even touch the remote!
You actually don’t need to worry about the smart features! You can just plug in a USB drive loaded with pictures and use that for display, completely free. However, if that's not your main concern, what exactly are you trying to achieve here? Also, just a heads up, I haven’t seen any other TVs with a matte finish as nice as the Frame—it's pretty unique and cool!
Absolutely! The Frame's matte finish really sets it apart from other TVs. It's worth considering if that's what you like!
Honestly, trying to DIY might end up being more expensive than just buying a Samsung Frame TV. Projects like this often don't go as planned, and you could find yourself stuck with parts that aren't useful if you hit a snag with integration.

It’s true; they still make non-smart TVs, but you might have to search a bit.
