I'm having trouble with my son's room not getting adequate cooling from our central air conditioning system. I've reached out to HVAC professionals, but they haven't offered any helpful solutions so far. I noticed there are registry fans available, but his ceiling vent is square-shaped which doesn't seem compatible. Any suggestions on how to improve the airflow in his room?

First things first, have you checked the attic or under the house to make sure the vent is actually connected to your AC system? Sometimes, the ductwork can get flattened or blocked, which limits the airflow. That could be a quick fix if that’s the case!
Make sure the louvre in the duct (the part that opens and closes) is open and that there aren’t any toys or stuff blocking the register. I've seen kids use the ducts as hiding spots for their toys, and that could definitely cut off airflow!
If you can check the attic, it might be worth it to see if the duct is insulated properly. If it’s under-insulated, that could be why the room doesn’t cool down well, especially in winter. Insulating the duct and the area above the room could really help. Just a thought!
