I've been noticing that the M18 planer seems pretty outdated compared to other tools in the line. Has anyone heard any rumors or plans about a Fuel version being released?

You're definitely right about the M18 planer feeling like a relic! I actually decided to switch to a Makita XGT planer because the M18 just wasn't cutting it for me. The difference is huge—way better performance and features.
Same here! I keep holding off on buying the current M18 planer, hoping they'll announce a Fuel version any day now. It's like I can't commit because I'm sure something better is just around the corner.
I upgraded the cutting head in my M18 planer to a spiral one, and man, what a game changer! The cut quality and noise levels are vastly improved. If you're using the M18, that's a solid upgrade.
Totally agree! The XGT platform is fantastic. I've been using their track saw and love it!
