I'm considering removing my small deck because it feels like more of a hassle than it's worth. It's only big enough for two chairs, and with neighbors so close, there's hardly any privacy. Plus, even though I'm near Lake Michigan, I can't really see the lake from my deck. I have plans to use my backyard for gardening and even a chicken coop, so I think getting rid of the deck would free up space. I'm just wondering if there's any compelling reason I shouldn't take it out, or if maybe I should just put in some steps instead. Any thoughts?

It's totally your call! If you decide to ditch the deck, maybe consider putting in a paver stone patio instead. They're low maintenance, look great, and do what a deck does without all the fuss. Plus, you can create a nice space for your gardening and chicken coop!

Yeah, I like that idea! Just feels weird to let it go, but I'd rather have something that fits my plans better. I've heard about laying rocks down first or something, right?
