I'm really eager to grow some vegetables but my only outdoor space is a balcony. I live in zone 6b, and my balcony faces south, so it gets a ton of intense sun and heat during the summer months. I'm aware it might be too late in the season, but I'm thinking about purchasing some seedlings to give it a shot anyway. Is there anything suitable that I can plant now? The temperature often exceeds 90°F in the summer, and it's even hotter on our balcony due to being on a higher floor, plus it's fully exposed to the elements. I say this because if I don't water my plants daily (or at least every other day), they tend to dry out and die quickly.

You can absolutely grow tomatoes and peppers on your balcony! Just make sure to use large enough containers for them. It might be a good idea to use some shade cloth to protect them from the harsh afternoon sun. Water them daily if they need it, and don’t hesitate to experiment a bit!

This might sound silly, but how big should the containers be? I'm really new to all this!
