Looking for Recommendations on Electric Lawn Mowers

I'm on the hunt for a good electric lawn mower that's beginner-friendly and won't give me the hassle of dealing with gas engines. I want something lightweight and easy to maneuver for my typical suburban lawn. It should have solid battery life, quick charging, adjustable cutting heights, and operate quietly. Bonus points if it offers mulching capabilities, a decent grass catcher, and maybe some smart features like app control or self-propulsion. I've checked out a few models such as the EGO Power+ LM2142SP, Greenworks PRO 21-Inch 80V, Sun Joe iON16LM, RYOBI 40V Brushless Mower, and the WORX WG779, but I'd love to hear your recommendations or experiences with any of these! I'm mainly looking for something that's dependable and easy to maintain for everyday lawn care. Thanks for your help!

When it comes to electric mowers, keep in mind you're mostly paying for the batteries, not just the tools. EGO is top-of-the-line, but if you already own batteries from brands like DeWalt or Milwaukee, you might want to consider their mowers instead. The DeWalt mower comes with 2 massive 10 Ah batteries, which is a great value. Just think about your lawn size when choosing—battery swapping can double costs if you don't plan accordingly.

All our equipment is EGO and we've had great luck with them. Just a little tip: make sure to give the blade a good sharpening now and then to keep it performing well!

I've got an EGO mower and it's fantastic! Just make sure to grab the model with front wheel drive, since the entry-level one doesn't have it. The batteries are universal, which is great if you plan to buy more EGO products. It runs quietly and doesn’t kick up dust like gas mowers do. Also, invest in the double blade mulching attachment for a cleaner cut!

If your lawn is under an acre, I’d highly recommend the Hart 40V self-propelled mower from Walmart; it's been a solid backup for me, and it’s pretty affordable too! But I'd stay away from anything Sun Joe—they aren’t very reliable at all.

I bought the Ryobi 40V kit last year (mower, blower, string trimmer) for around $600 with two batteries included. It works great so far! Sometimes I think about getting a 48V setup for extra power, especially for the trimmer, but this one does the job without breaking the bank!
