I'm trying to figure out ways to stop my son's bed from moving away from the wall. He's 13, and despite getting to choose how his room looks, the bottom half of his metal bed keeps shifting out at an angle at least once a week. I think he might accidentally kick it while he sleeps, but he can't really explain it to me. The issue is that when it moves, the boxspring and mattress become unsupported, and it's a hassle because things end up falling between the bed and the wall. I can't move it to the center of the room due to vents and doors, so I'm looking for suggestions on how to secure it to the wall. Would drilling into a stud and attaching the frame work?

You could also swing by a hardware store and grab some U-brackets. Just screw those into the wall, and they'll keep the bed in place without too much trouble.
Another idea is to use non-slip rubber feet on the legs of the bed. You can also try wedge rubber doorstops against the feet; it might be a cheap and simple fix!
If you're okay with putting a couple of screws into the floor, you could use a closet rod holder to stabilize the leg nearest the wall. If not, just some rubber slide-on feet could give you enough grip to keep it from moving.
Thanks for the tips! I’d like to try the rubber feet first before drilling into anything.
A solid option would be to find two studs in the wall and use L-shaped brackets to attach the bed frame securely. This way, it shouldn't move anymore!

That’s a good point! Extra friction could definitely help. Plus, it’s an easy fix if you're not looking to drill into anything.
