Looking for Dog-Safe Trees with Pink or Red Blooms

Asked By DogLvr123! On

I'm planning to plant a cherry tree in my yard for its beautiful reddish-pink flowers, but I just found out that the Kanzan cherry tree is toxic to dogs. Does anyone have suggestions for dog-friendly trees that bloom in pink or red? I'm specifically looking for options that aren't fruit trees, and I'm located in Zone 9 in the US.

I agree with the Pink Dogwood suggestion. They’re confirmed dog-friendly, but if you want a more vibrant color, you might need to keep searching.

Just a heads up about the Kanzan cherry—the concern isn't just the blooms; the entire tree can be toxic to dogs. Best to play it safe and avoid them altogether!

Have you thought about a Pink Dogwood? It’s known to be dog-safe and has lovely blooms! Just keep in mind that their color might be a bit softer than what you're looking for.
