Is it safe to stay in my 1950s house during plumbing work?

I'm planning to have some plumbing work done in my house, which was built around 1953. The plan is to drill a few holes from the outside through a couple of walls to reroute pipes to the kitchen and two showers. We're going to leave for two days while they complete the drilling and plumbing. After that, they'll need another two days to patch and tile, with the water back on by day three. My main concern is, will drilling create any harmful dust or particles in the air that would make it unsafe to return on day three?
