What can I do about my door that swings open after over-lubrication?

I live in a century-old house that's not exactly square, and after I over-lubricated the bedroom door's squeaky hinge, it now swings open on its own. Any tips on how to fix this issue and prevent the door from opening by itself?

Also, since the door frames in older houses often shift over time, it might be worth checking the latching mechanism to see if that’s causing any issues. It's a common problem with antique homes.

One option is to pull out the hinge pin and slightly bend it with a hammer against concrete. When you put it back in, the extra friction should help keep the door from swinging freely.

You might want to try removing the lubrication altogether using brake cleaner if possible. That could help resolve the issue.
