I recently purchased the brushed M12 Dremel, and after using it for only about 30 seconds, I think I messed it up! I was trying to drill some holes in plastic, but I went too low on the RPM, which caused the tool to stall. After turning it off, it wouldn't start again and seemed stuck. To get it going, I ended up rotating the tool by hand, but then I noticed thick white smoke coming out of the motor vents. Now, it seems to be working fine, but I'm really worried that I've damaged something inside. Should I consider returning it since it was practically brand new?

Definitely consider sending it in for warranty repair! It’s better to be safe than sorry. If it’s already acting up after such little use, that’s a big red flag.
I don’t have a lot of experience with brushed tools, but sometimes the smoke could be some factory coating burning off. That said, it’s best to play it safe. It’s worth getting in touch with Milwaukee for advice or at least wait for some more responses before you decide on a return.
If you just got it, I’d recommend returning it instead of trying to get it repaired. The brushed models are known to have issues, especially with their controllers, and it might not be worth the hassle. However, I’ve heard there’s a new brushless version available, although I haven't seen enough reviews to gauge its reliability yet.
Hey, just out of curiosity, why did you choose the Dremel for drilling holes? I’ve seen they have drill bits specifically for Dremels, so maybe that's what you could use next time?
