Hey folks, I'm looking for some advice on my radon test results. Here are the details: I conducted a measurement from April 7 to April 9, 2025, with an overall average of 2.9 pCi/l. The EPA average is 3.1 pCi/l, so I'm just trying to figure out if I need to install a radon mitigation system now that I have a newborn. Also, it would be great if someone could explain the difference between my average and the EPA average. Thanks!

Generally, radon levels like yours (2.9 pCi/l) don’t pose a significant health risk. The levels are below what’s needed for remediation, so you’re likely fine. Just remember, those aren’t called 'safety limits' for a reason. Getting a radon monitor might give you more peace of mind, especially with a baby in the house!

So you wouldn’t take any action?
