Should I Choose Milwaukee’s OneKey Tools or Stick with Standard Options?

I've decided to go with Team Red for my DIY projects. As an experienced DIYer, I'm trying to figure out whether I should invest in Milwaukee's OneKey tools or just stick with their regular options. What do you all think?

I wouldn't recommend OneKey for DIY tasks. While the app is useful for keeping track of your tool's serial numbers and warranties, it's not something you need for casual projects. I suggest starting with the M12 Fuel Drill and Driver combo; it's versatile enough for almost any DIY job. When possible, opt for the M12 Fuel tools, but go with M18 for specific heavier tasks; the M12 handles most things just fine.

If you're new to the Milwaukee ecosystem, wait for a good deal at Home Depot. Grab the biggest kit you can for the best discount, making sure you go for brushless tools. It's essential to outline what you need first. Don't shy away from M12; today's 12v tools can outperform the old 24v models and are lighter too. But, I wouldn't pay extra for OneKey.

I’m a big DIY enthusiast, almost a pro! I've never used OneKey, and honestly, it's not necessary. If you're debating between Fuel and regular tools, just get what fits your budget and upgrade later. My non-Fuel tools hold up well, but I invested in an SDS drill for heavier tasks. Different tools for different jobs makes a lot of sense!
