Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a jam with my new home. The builder assured me I could fit a counter depth fridge, and they even gave me the dimensions for one they usually install, which is 35.75" wide. So, I found a secondhand fridge that matches that width, but it just won't fit! Is this normal? Did the builder screw up the measurements? Also, is counter depth supposed to be a standard size? Can I request a warranty fix for this issue? Thanks for your help!

Counter depth isn't just about width; it's also about depth! Most counter depth fridges are around 35.75” wide, but it sounds like your space might be tighter than expected. You might want to check the height and depth of your space, too.
Yeah, if you’re aiming for a snug fit, it can be tricky! I recommend measuring the actual space where the fridge goes. If it’s really close, maybe some small adjustments could help. If things are too tight, you could definitely check with the builder about warranty service. They might be able to adjust the cavity for you.
That’s true! It's worth reaching out to them. You might be surprised at what they’re willing to do for you!
Honestly, I don’t think there’s much that can be done to change the fridge size or the opening size. You might just have to find another fridge that fits! Sorry to say, but that’s often the reality when you try to get a perfect fit.

Totally get that! But many counter depth fridges do sit at that width. It seems odd it wouldn't fit. Keep measuring just to be sure!
