Hey everyone! I have a 1,800 sq ft area in my yard that's currently covered in gravel, and I'm tired of dealing with the weeds. I just received a quote of $10,000 for pouring concrete over this area. Does that seem too high to you, or is it reasonable? I'd really appreciate your thoughts on this!

Typically, you should expect around $5 per sq ft for a standard 4" concrete slab. That said, it looks like you might be getting charged more since it's a one-time job. Depending on your location and the specific job details, that could explain the higher quote.
$10,000 might be a bit steep, especially if it’s just a flat, leveled area. If they’re not doing significant site work, it’s worth exploring lower-priced options, especially if you’re in a region where concrete is cheaper.
Honestly, that price seems pretty spot-on for what you’re getting. When you factor in the cost of materials and labor, especially if they need to do any excavation or prep work, it sounds fair to me. Always good to check a few quotes though, just to be sure!
Yeah, I always get three quotes for projects too. Helps to get a good sense of what's out there!

True, the location and leveling affects the pricing a lot. In some areas, it can get pricey!
