Need Help Lifting My New Sawstop: How Many People Do I Need?

Hey everyone, I recently got my 3 HP Sawstop, but it was delivered on its side and I'm struggling to get it lifted upright. As a 60-year-old disabled Army vet, I can't do it alone and I don't have anyone nearby to help. I've called a few moving companies, but no one has gotten back to me. I'm willing to pay someone for help—how many people do you think I'd need to lift it? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think two strong folks can easily handle it! Have you looked into hiring through U-Haul? They have a service where you can actually hire movers, which might work well for you.

You could also consider getting a handyman from sites like Nextdoor or Craigslist. It’s pretty common to find folks willing to help out for a reasonable fee.

I faced a similar issue with my lathe. I used a chain hoist to get it upright, and it really helped. If you're up for it, I'd suggest looking into a local Facebook woodworking group or even TaskRabbit. They can help you find someone close who can assist with lifting and setting up your saw.

That’s a solid idea! I've also seen locals help out in community forums, and folks are generally willing to lend a hand where they can.

Great tip on TaskRabbit! It can be a lifesaver when you need an extra pair of hands.
