I have some large 5'x3' windows that get a lot of afternoon sun, and I'm looking for a way to block out sunlight without using blackout curtains. Unfortunately, I can't install curtains due to restrictions. I want something cheap and easy to set up and remove since I need a step stool to reach the top of the windows. With large furniture below, I want a solution that I can put in and take out without hassle, especially in the evenings when I open the windows for fresh air. I've looked into options like magnetic blackout curtains, but they would block the windows from opening easily. Any recommendations for portable and inexpensive methods to block the light would be greatly appreciated!

If you want to keep the sunlight at bay without blocking your view entirely, I recently applied frosted window tint, and it diffuses the sunlight very effectively. It helps to reduce the heat from direct sun while still allowing some light in, which is great!
Using aluminum foil can be a quick fix! Wet the glass, apply the foil starting from the top, and roll it on smoothly to avoid air bubbles. It’s totally removable when you don’t need it anymore, but just keep in mind that it does look a bit 'ghetto' from the outside.
