I just found out from my go-to repair guy that starting June 30th, Milwaukee is no longer allowing independent repair shops in Canada to service their tools. This is really frustrating for me because I've previously stopped using the Milwaukee service center due to long wait times and high prices. I mean, I've been waiting a whole year for a packout handle I ordered! Plus, they didn't repair my 12-volt Sawzall correctly, and when I tried to pick up a replacement, the price was way higher than what they quoted. Now, my 12V Fuel drill's serial number is worn off from where it's placed, and they won't honor the warranty because of that. Is this really true that they are dropping all independent repair outlets in favor of their service centers, which seem pretty inadequate?

Yeah, I’ve heard similar things around here. It seems like more and more companies are pushing to have everything done at their own centers. It can be a real headache if those shops take ages to get repairs done while charging a lot more than local shops would. I also had a bad experience with waiting for parts and overpricing at the service center.
From what I've gathered, there are rumors circulating that Milwaukee is indeed phasing out independent repair shops in favor of consolidating services within their own locations. I guess they think it streamlines everything, but it’s frustrating if you’ve had bad experiences. The customer service issues are definitely concerning; I hope they reconsider!
I’m really hoping they don’t go through with this. It just feels like they’re abandoning the local repair shops that have supported them for years!

Totally agree! It’s such a hassle. If they keep going like this, many of us may end up looking for alternatives or even switching brands.
