How to Organize a Cluttered Space When You’re Dealing with ADHD and Depression?

I'm really struggling to manage the clutter in my living space, and it's been especially hard to organize things due to my depression and ADHD. I live with two people, and I want to make our home more livable, but every time I clean up, it just turns messy again. I've got a pile of disorganized stuff, including a box of onions, tomatoes, bags for returning bottles, and some rags for cleaning—it's chaotic! My relationship with my mom is also challenging since she doesn't help with the mess despite my frustrations. I'm looking for practical organizing tips tailored to my situation since I can't move out yet, and I also need to tackle the mess in my room. Any advice would be super appreciated!

You might want to check out a book I found super helpful called *The Messies Manual*. It focuses on figuring out what kind of messy person you are, then it gives practical tips on how to solve those specific mess issues. The author even published a follow-up book that might have more insights you could use!

I totally get where you're coming from. It helps to tackle one small area at a time instead of trying to fix everything at once. Once you've organized a spot, leave it alone for a bit and give yourself a break—take a nap or chill out. It’s a tough cycle, but breaking it down into smaller tasks can make it feel less overwhelming.
