Why is gutter cleaning quoted at $1500 when others charge only $250?

I received two gutter cleaning estimates for $250 each from contractors on Thumbtack, while a company with a professional website quoted me $1500. The higher quote includes sending two technicians out for 4-6 hours. I'm wondering if the significant price difference is just due to the overhead of a larger company, or if there are other factors at play, like extended warranties or insurance. Is it common to pay around $100 per hour for gutter cleaning, or are the $250 quotes more reasonable?

Honestly, I wouldn’t even consider paying $1500 for a standard cleaning job! I’ve had my gutters done for around $100-$125 with local guys, and they did just fine. It all depends on your house's height and how full the gutters are, but still, $1500 seems excessive.

Exactly! Just last week, I paid around $125 for a cleaning and got before and after pictures to see the difference!

I'd say $250 is much more in line with what you should expect for gutter cleaning! Unless your gutters are really complicated or have been neglected for years, that $1500 quote is quite steep. Usually, a quick clean shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours, so that makes the $250 seem much more fair.

Totally agree! I can't imagine spending that much unless there’s some serious work involved, like clogged underground drains or extensive repairs.

It's crucial to check what you're getting with those quotes! If the $250 folks provide a solid warranty and do a thorough job, that can be a good deal. Gutter cleaning isn't rocket science, but safety is key—even if it looks easy! Just make sure they’re insured before you let anyone on your roof.

Right? Safety matters a lot—if they have insurance, that's a good sign. It's not just about the price; it's about what you're paying for!
