Looking for Affordable Ideas for a Drive-Over Bridge

I've got this small grand canyon situation on my property, making it impossible for my tractor to cross over. I really need access to the land on the other side for mowing and other tasks. So, I'm looking for some affordable ideas for building a bridge that's about 6 feet wide and 10 feet long. Any suggestions on how to make one or where to get something cheap?

Ever thought about repurposing a 12-14 ft trailer? You could tow it where you need it and just drive anchors into the ground. Just keep your tractor size in mind, though!

Have you thought about checking with a local demolition company? They often have reclaimed I-beams that could work perfectly. You’d just need to set up four concrete footings for support and you’d have your bridge! I've actually built a 40-foot one over a river for an ATV club, it held up great!

You might want to consider using old semi-trailers, rail cars, or even shipping containers. They can function as great supports for a bridge. For instance, a shipping container can span about a 10-foot gap without issues. If your gap is wider, just add some middle support to be safe!

Totally agree! The floor of a shipping container is especially solid for this kind of thing. I've used one myself, and it worked perfectly for crossing my gap.

Big box stores usually sell railroad ties. They’re heavy but pretty affordable and could definitely do the trick for a smaller bridge solution!
