I just got my hands on a free Craftsman Jointer Planer (model 113.232240) that's in pretty decent shape. Since I'm new to woodworking, I'm all about saving money on tools! However, the tool currently has just wires in the switch box—no switches at all. Is there a workaround for this, or can I find a replacement switch? I checked OEM parts, but everything seems to be discontinued.

If your jointer is wired for 120v, you can actually use any household wall switch. However, for better safety and performance, consider getting a machine switch from places like Amazon or Grizzly. These are designed to handle the electrical load without burning out, unlike regular light switches.
You might want to check out pre-wired switch boxes designed for DIY router tables. I found some great options here in Australia for 240v applications, ideal for high-powered motors. They usually come with a paddle switch, making it easy to power off safely while you’re handling larger materials.
