I'm trying to decide on a new drill since I've only used 12v drills in the past and want to upgrade to an 18/20v model because I've broken a few of my old ones. Although I don't often need a hammer function, I want to have it just in case I need it in the future. I'm torn between the DCD800, DCD805, and DCD1007. I know the DCD800 lacks the hammer function, but I've heard that the DCD805 is similar to the 800, just with the hammer feature. Plus, the DCD1007 is on sale for $242, 33% off. The 800 is $180, and the 805 costs over $220. If I'm going to get a hammer drill anyway, should I just go for the DCD1007 since it's not much more?

If your other drill works fine, I say go for the DCD1007—it’s more powerful! Just keep in mind it might feel a bit heavy for light tasks, so having a smaller drill could be handy too. You could even snag the 1007 as a kit and grab a bare tool of the 800 if you think you'll need both. By the way, the 800 and 805 just got replaced by the 801 and 806, so look out for deals on those if you consider them!
Having multiple drills is great! The DCD1007 is bulkier and packs more power than the 805, which is lighter and easier to handle for overhead work. If you plan to use it for tougher tasks, then the 1007 is solid, but if you find yourself using smaller bits more often, the 805 might be the way to go.
What you’ll actually be drilling matters a lot. For light work, a hammer drill works fine, but for big jobs on concrete or heavy masonry, consider a rotary hammer like the DCH113 instead.
