Is DIY Window Replacement a Good Idea?

Asked By CraftyTiger83 On

I'm thinking about replacing the original double glass single hung aluminum windows in my single-story brick house from 2005. They don't leak but are really tough to open. Can I tackle this project as a motivated DIYer? Also, what materials and brands would you recommend for the new windows?

From my experience with replacing windows, I highly recommend getting measurements done by a professional from the store where you’ll buy the windows. It might only cost a little, but trust me, even a tiny mistake in sizing can make the job a real nightmare!

Got any tips on how to find a reputable local window shop or suggestions for specific types of windows?
