I'm building an angled floating desk and I managed to attach the brackets to one wall (which is plaster) without a hitch. However, I'm having a tough time with the other wall that's drywall. I bought a stud finder, but it seems to be acting up—every time it signals that there's wood behind the wall, I drill, and it's just hollow. It also doesn't pick up any metal studs. Is it possible for my 2.65m wall to not have any studs? I really need to find them to attach my brackets securely.

If there's an electric outlet or light switch on that wall, it should be mounted to a stud. If not, I’d recommend checking the area near the window, just in case. Sometimes they can be off to the side of openings.
Have you tried using a strong magnet? A neodymium magnet works great for this! Run it along the wall and if it tugs at something, it could be a nail from the drywall that's anchored to a stud. Just make sure to check every few inches as you move it up and down the wall. If it's consistently tugging, it might be metal conduit.

I think my magnet isn’t strong enough either! I’ve been trying every few centimeters over a long stretch, but I’m just not getting any luck finding a stud.
