How Accurate Does a Rotary Laser Level Have to Be for Pool Installation?

Hey everyone! I'm new to using rotary laser levels and I want to confirm a few things before I continue leveling my ground for a pool. My laser level is beeping to guide me up or down, but I'm unsure about how close I need to be to level for it to register. Is it true that I can call it good if I'm within an inch? I've been working on leveling this ground for almost a week, and I'm ready to wrap it up!

Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely try using the bubble level technique. I think I have the high precision LRE-203 model; it tells me if I’m high or low but not by how much. If it's within an inch, that should be fine for me. Leveling a 33-foot pool has been quite the challenge for a novice like me!

It really depends on the specific model of your laser level. Most of them have a range of about 2 inches for up or down readings. I invested in a receiver that gives me precise high or low indications, but it set me back around $400. You might want to use a bubble level to ensure you're holding it steady. Check out the Spectra Precision C70 Laser Level Clamp if you're using an HL700 or similar model. It'll definitely help you get a more accurate reading!
