Can I Grow Pumpkins in a Container for My Kid?

I'm looking to grow a pumpkin vine for my child this spring and summer, but my garden space is quite limited (only 3'x8'). I'm wondering if it's possible to successfully grow one vine in a 5-10 gallon pot and maybe trellis it?

Honestly, it might be worth considering if the potential disappointment of not getting any fruit is worse than saying no now. There's a chance you could get a mature pumpkin, but it's slim. Just think it through as a parent!

You could definitely try growing a smaller variety, like the miniature pumpkins! They tend to do better in containers and won’t take up too much space. Just make sure to choose the right seeds and give it a shot!

Have you thought about getting Jack Be Little pumpkins? They're perfect for container growing as long as the pot is deep enough. Your kids might love them, and they fit well in smaller spaces!
