I'm considering using insulation foam boards to create decorative elements like fake cathedral windows and stone walls inside my home. My main concern is whether doing this could void any warranties or impact my insurance policy. Has anyone had experience with this or know the regulations around using foam boards for decoration?

I've worked with foam insulation boards for prop building, and they can actually be really great for that! You can cover them with a thin layer of drywall mud to make them easier to work with and add some fine details. Just make sure to paint the surface with a good primer afterward. I can't comment on flammability specifically, but I think encapsulating them in plaster could help a lot.

That's super helpful! I’ll definitely be carving some stone details, so that info is gold!
