I've been really getting into the relaxed, natural vibe of mixing grasses into my garden borders. I already have quite a few grasses, but I specifically want to hear about those that are low-maintenance and can survive winter without much fuss. I've got oat grass and witch grass on my list, but I'm looking for more recommendations! What are your favorites?

Stipa gigantea is a classic! It's everywhere now, especially in parks, but the way it stands out in a border is just stunning. If you place it right, it's a real showstopper!
I'm all about Stipa tenuissima and Deschampsia Goldtau for lower grasses. They're pretty hardy and add great texture to borders. Also, those pennisetum varieties are fantastic and can handle themselves well across seasons.
Timothy grass is decent too if you like something classic. And don't overlook hare's tail! It's annual but brings a charming softness and self-seeds quite well.

Absolutely agree! Plus, Stipa tenuissima has such beautiful movement and works great in poor soil. Anemanthele lessoniana is another gem – it's underappreciated but tough as nails after its second year!
