What can I use to safely trap spiders on painted walls without damaging the surface?

I need some advice for a friend who has an intense fear of spiders. Whenever she spots one on her walls or ceiling, she panics and leaves her house, making it really tough to deal with. I've already gotten her a vacuum with a long hose to catch smaller spiders, but for the bigger ones, she just freezes up. I'm looking for a spray, like adhesive foam, that could trap spiders quickly without harming her painted walls since she's renting. Traditional bug sprays just take too long to work, and I don't want anything that ruins her living space. What are my options?

I get the urgency, but a spray foam could be risky on painted surfaces. It’ll likely leave marks or damage the wall. Have you thought about getting her a Bug-A-Salt gun? It uses salt to zap spiders but is way more fun and less messy! Just remember, she might need some therapy to tackle that fear effectively.

Honestly, I don't think there's a quick-fix product that meets your needs. Anything that traps spiders without harming the walls seems overly complicated. I really think your friend needs exposure therapy. I know it’s a tough journey, but it will help her live more freely!

Honestly, therapy is the best choice here. It’s a long-term solution that can help her cope with her fear. Trying to fix the spider problem temporarily isn't going to help her in the long run. Plus, unless there’s a revolutionary product out there, I wouldn’t recommend spray foam on the walls—it could really mess up her paint or drywall.
